ABOUT Cristy
I never planned to be a writer. That involved sitting behind a computer. Gross. I enjoyed writing and was always composing in my head, but the thought of doing something sedentary for hours on end? Forget about it. I was too busy living my life as a wife, homeschooling mother of three, part time physical therapist and volunteer. I loved God and wanted to do things for Him. Nothing was going to get in the way of my plans.
And then chronic illness hit—Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) to be exact (along with a few others thrown in for good measure). Our world, our routine, our marriage, our finances, my drive, ambition, mothering, sense of self; it all came crashing down.
That was several years ago and our world is still entirely different. There is much to be sad about and mourn, but I’ve learned something that changes everything. When I want to flip my lid, instead, I ask God to help me flip the script.
For a long time I couldn’t do anything for God, all I could do was be with Him. As it turns out, that’s what He wanted all along. Even though I didn’t know it, it’s what I wanted too. I just needed the gift of POTS to slow my roll long enough to see it.
Now, I’m learning to flip the script on a lot of what life throws my way, and I hope to help you do the same.
Oh, and just because I know you will enjoy them SO much, I’ve included a couple pics of my adorable family for you to ooh and aah over.
I know, I’m thoughtful like that. Your welcome.
